LSC2 (Cedar Trees)

A Warm Welcome to Cedars! 🌲
We are the Key Stage 2 SPL class within the Learning Support Unit at Kilcooley Primary School. Our class is made up of 12 hard-working pupils from P5 to P7.
Our Learning Journey
We have been incredibly busy this year! Every day, we focus on strengthening our Literacy and Numeracy skills—mastering everything from nouns and adjectives to place value, addition, and multiplication. Our pupils are working on their reading skills each week and have produced some amazing fact files and reports on various sea creatures. Make sure you check out some of our amazing writing in the photo gallery!
Exploring Our World
We love discovering all there is in the world around us! Whether it’s in the classroom or outdoors in a forest school lesson, we enjoy making connections to our learning. Last term we dove into our ‘Blue Planet’ theme, exploring the natural beauty and wildlife of our oceans. We learnt why our seas are so vital to the world and enjoyed reading Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo, following Michael’s gripping journey of survival after being stranded on a mysterious island.
Looking Ahead
This term, we are travelling back in time to explore Egypt. We cannot wait to uncover the mysteries and legends of this ancient civilisation! We are also continuing our Wellbeing Wednesday journey where we learn about ourselves, our friendships and positive strategies to help us grow.
Next term, we will be learning all about Our Wee Country, exploring the iconic sights and locations that make Northern Ireland so special.
We are so proud of the progress everyone in Cedars is making. There is always something exciting happening in our classroom!
