Our P1 and P2 children have settled so well into our class routines and are enjoying all areas of
our curriculum so far! This term we’re focusing on the topic “Marvellous me.” We will be learning
about what makes us special, all about our feelings/emotions, our families and how we are all
unique and different! Our shared reading book Elmer, will help to support this learning! We’ll be
creating lots of arts and crafts activities from Elmer! We’re also so excited to celebrate “Elmer” at
the end of our topic with a special colourful day! During play based learning we’re thoroughly
enjoying sand play, water play, role play and construction. TOPS play has proved to be extremely
beneficial to our children in developing their play and learning skills outdoors! We participate in
the arts and enjoy our musical instruments and dancing to our own music! Our gross motor skills
are developed through the bikes and trikes zone, where we can even bring in our own bicycles or
scooters! Early mark making and creative skills are promoted using a wide range of stimulus such
as chalks, markers, pencils and whiteboards! If we can’t get outdoors we can always put our
gross motor skills to practise in our newly renovated soft play area!
