Welcome to Oak Class, also known as SCC3. We are a Key Stage 2 class made up of P5, P6 and P7 children and are based in the Specialist Provision Unit.

We have been working hard on our place value work and looking for strategies to help add, subtract, multiply and divide. After this we are working on telling and calculating time and using our skills in real life examples with timetables and calendars.

In Literacy we are doing a variety of different writing styles but also making sure to edit our work carefully using the spelling and punctuation skills that we practise every week.

We are also taking part in the ‘Roots of Empathy’ programme with Ms Stewart where we learn about the different needs and wants of a baby and how best to look after them as well as how to support others in doing this.

Our topic is ‘Raiders of the Lost Tomb’ and we will be exploring the history and geography of ancient Egypt. We will also be studying and recreating art and the different technological breakthroughs of the time.

We are continuing to work on our swimming technique each week and we also love sharing our different individual successes with our families, friends, teachers and each other.

Overall, there’s plenty happening in SCC3 this year and we are excited to share our learning journey!
