LSC1 (Squirrels)

Welcome to LSC1(Squirrel Class)

We have a class of 12 children ranging from P1 to P4. Our first topic for this year was Hey, Hey Look at me. We learnt all about the human body and our 5 senses. We also created fantastic self-portraits and talked about our families and the people we love the most.

In our classroom, we have a calm corner filled with fidget toys and weighted blankets. We have access to a Sensory Room, which helps us to feel relaxed and ready to learn.  We really love our classroom, and we get to do fun activities including painting, playing with sand, and building amazing creations with LEGO.

For numeracy, we really enjoy using Mathseeds to help support our learning. We love to sing songs to help us remember our numbers and love to take our learning outside. In Literacy, we are learning how to write our own stories and really enjoy creating our own characters and describing them to our friends.

One of our favourite activities of the week is going outside to the garden for our forest school lessons. We have built dens, made bird feeders and even got to go for a walk to Kilcooley Wood to create a leaf rainbow.
