P1/2

Welcome to P/2!

P1 and P2 have had a fantastic start to their first term in school. We have loved settling into routines and embracing new learning experiences together. The children thoroughly enjoyed our Forest School sessions in the Foundation Stage garden, where they explored numeracy through outdoor play using Numicon, building confidence and curiosity in a natural learning environment. A very special visit from Pudsey Bear brought lots of excitement and smiles to our classroom!

In Primary 1, the children have made excellent progress in developing their letter formation and pencil control, using a wide range of multi‑sensory approaches to support early writing skills. Meanwhile, Primary 2 pupils have been busy extending their high‑frequency words, using phonic cubes, paint and stampers to make learning active, engaging and fun.

As part of our learning, the children explored the important roles of doctors and vets, learning how they help to keep us and our pets healthy. This topic inspired lots of thoughtful discussion, imaginative play and role‑play opportunities.

One of the highlights of our term was undoubtedly Christmas. We were thrilled when Santa came to visit, and P2 enjoyed an exciting trip to the post office to post their letters to Santa. The term ended on a high as the children proudly performed their Christmas show, which they truly smashed in front of a wonderful audience. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved in such a short time!
